DEVELOPMENTAL SERVICES COUNSELLOR APPLICATION

Where do I send my Résumé?

You can either Fax your résumé to the Human Resources Department at 613-383-0192 or e-mail it to HumanResources@ocapdd.on.ca. Please do not send a duplicate résumé for the same position. What happens to my résumé once I have applied? Your résumé will be screened by the HR Department. After evaluating your skills and background, the HR Recruiter may invite you to write a screening examination. Candidates who successfully pass the screening examination will be invited to an interview.

How will I know if I am selected?

If you are selected, the HR Administrative Assistant will contact you.

Will I be notified if I don't pass the Screening Examination?

No. Only successful candidates will be contacted for a follow-up interview.

If I am not called for a follow-up interview, can I reapply to the association?

Candidates may reapply to the association after a period of 6 months.

I have successfully completed the Screening Exam and have been called for an interview; what do I need to bring?

You will need to provide the following information at your interview:

  • Proof of academic achievement
  • Criminal Reference check for Service with the Vulnerable Sector (completed within the last 6 months)
  • SIN (Social Insurance Number) Card
  • Driver's license (if attained)
  • Names of 3 professional references with current phone numbers
  • First Aid and CPR certification
  • CPI certification (if attained)

I have been offered a relief position with OCAPDD; are there further documents that I need to provide?

Both a Hepatitis B screening and a medical certificate (indicating that you are free from communicable diseases) will be required and form a condition of your employment.

Can I apply for other jobs?

Relief staff can apply for any internal posted positions. Relief, like other employees, are considered for a posted position by order of seniority provided they meet the qualifications for the position.
